Amy - I just finished From the Ground Up. I enjoyed it thoroughly. The piece about burying Grey brought me to tears, and again at the end when you moved away from Santa Cruz. I laughed out loud about your gophers (been there, the sight of a plant being yanked underground is hilarious - I know). I'm going to try, again, to grow tomatoes. Not often do we have an easy way to communicate to authors of books we read, so I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you I really liked your book!
