The Natural Gardener has something to crow about
Gardenbloggers visited Austin's Natural Gardener nursery when we were there last month and loved it.
Having just visited their website, can I suggest a little warning about the crowing that blasts from our speakers as soon as the page loads? It scared the bejesus out of me AND my cats.
But moving on, the good news is that Natural Gardener is one of four finalists for Garden Center Magazine's Innovator Award. From the magazine's newsletter:
The Natural Gardener named Innovator finalist
The Natural Gardener in Austin, Texas, is among 4 garden centers that made the cut to be finalists for the 2008 Innovator Award, sponsored by Garden Center Magazine and Garden Market Expo. The Natural Gardener is one of the country's leading garden centers that specializes in sustainability. For owner John Dromgoole, retailing in a sustainable manner is a passion, not a job. A must-see for any retailer looking for ideas on how to sell green products.

You scooped us Austin garden bloggers with this one, Susan. Thanks for letting us know about it. The Natural Gardener is practically an institution here in Austin, and I'm glad to see them get this recognition. If anyone wants to see the place, I did a photo tour a while ago. No rooster crowing, I promise. http://www.penick.net/digging/?p=164
