I just learned about (and blogged about) the no earthworm thing too! I'm still kind of in shock about it. Now when I dig up an earthworm in my garden, I remember they are European and imagine them having a French accent and a little beret.

What an interesting book! A great find.

Got some creapy bug that came in boxes from China. Fumigated the 8 by 4 storage shed with an insect bomb 5 years ago. Couldn't kill them.
The creepy crawlers are spreading and growing wings.

Great review. This book is going on my list.

I knew about the earthworms. Yes, while they are wonderful in the vegetable garden they are a disaster for northern forests.

We are lucky to have Jeff Gilman up here at the U of MN. Definitely good garden writing!

Very interesting stuff, it really makes you think.
