“Amy Stewart: Maverick Garden Writer”

AmericangardenercoverI swear that’s the title of Linda McIntyre’s interview with Amy in this month’s The American Gardener – pretty timely, huh?  And here’s my favorite quote: "We want to be opinionated and irreverent on GardenRant and get away from plant lists and ‘how-to’ articles.  We won’t please everyone; sometimes we even write about plants we hate!"  I think she nailed us.

Funny thing, though.  Even before discovering the interview with Amy I’d flagged the issue as meaty and worth mentioning, so you’ll be reading more about it here soon.

  1. Maverick. Great. I saw a proof of the article a while back, and didn’t even make the connection.

Not that there’s anything wrong with—uh—mavericks. Usually.

Anyway, it is a good issue. the American Gardener really covers a lot of newsy horticultural topics, for which I am very grateful. Check it out.

  2. I’m going to suscribe. Thanks for bringing it up. Hope to like it more that Garden Design which is interesting but not easy to relate to.
